RK PReston

RK Preston is the pen name of a physician, healthcare executive, ethicist, and sailor. Before he began writing fiction RK Preston earned degrees in Philosophy, Biology and Medicine before training as a Pediatric Critical Care physician. Later he picked up an MBA as his career evolved away from the bedside and into hospital leadership.  The author of many articles and book chapters in basic and clinical science as well as bioethics Sea Change is his first work of fiction.

Sailing since he bought his first boat at the age of 16 on Michigan’s inland lakes, he has since sailed the Chesapeake, Caribbean, and coast of California.  Sea Change, the first novel in the Row v. Wave series, merges the author’s hunger for the sea with the desire for a life unbound from the constraints of a conventional life.

Carving out time to write each morning at a coffee shop before going to the hospital makes for slow progress, but following one’s passion takes patience and persistence. When he is not writing he enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and of course sailing.
